We offer a great selection of places to visit and activities to do in Guanacaste area. Tour options could be for nature lovers as Palo Verde National park, more into cultural learning as Guaitil artcraft town, idyllic moments enjoying the sunset on a catamaran or adventure activities as diving or canopy tours. Anything you decide, please contact our Front Desk to reserve in advance.

    Dive Information
    Divers must check in with Front Desk hotel in advance to reserve their dive days / Rocket Frog Divers will pick you up by boat on the hotel beach / All divers must show their certification cards in order to dive / The diver must also fill out a standard PADI waiver form and information sheet / If you are taking a dive course a medical questionnaire is required to be completed prior to taking the course (required to determine if you are medially fit for diving).

  • SUNSET SAILING TOUR

Sails around 4 hours through the bay and nearby coasts and enjoy the wonderful and famous sunset at Playa Hermosa. Swim suit, sandals, sun glasses, sunscreen and towels is recommended. During the tour we offer drinks, snacks and fruit.

  • SNORKELING

The best time to enjoy this adventure is during the morning our tour starts at 8 a.m. and last 3 hours. We recommend swim suit, sandals, towels, sun screen and sun glasses. Drinks are included in the tour.

  • VOLCÁN MIRAVALLES NATIONAL PARK

This experience include horseback ride, hike to the crater, hot Springs swim, volcanic gases and hot mud pools from Miravalles Volcano. Starts at 8 a.m. and it’s a full day tour with lunch and drinks. Taking comfortable hiking shoes, short or light long pants, swim suit, bug repellent, towels, sunscreen, sun glasses and hat is recommended.

  • CANOPY TOUR

This adventure last around 3 hours moving on 11 platforms of different high. The Canopy tour is available all day but keep in mind the last one starts at 3 p.m. Normally clients wear bug repellent, short or light pants, comfortable shoes and sun glasses.

  • DIVING

Leaving daily at 8 a.m, diving tour includes 2 immersions (2 tanks), drinks and fruit. You will be back at the hotel around 1 p.m. 

  • GUAITIL ARTCRAFT TOWN

Experience the Costa Rican culture from it roots. You decide what time to start this 5-6 hours tour and the first stop is to have a cup of coffee in a traditional cooperative company located in Santa Cruz. Later in Guaitil, the last descendant trace of Maya culture (the native Chorotegas) they keep the legacy of making handmade pottery using natural clay and their home made workshops and ovens.

Here, visitors have the opportunity of buying unique pieces of pottery directly from the artisans. Do not forget carry your sun glasses, light clothes, bug repellent, sunscreen and camera. The tour offers transportation, guide and drink at the coffee cooperative. If you want to have lunch in a local “soda” or restaurant, we can recommend you where.

  • WAVE RUNNER

A unique adventure driving a Jet Ski for yourself.This tour includes a guide and can be as long as you decide (rate per hour), we recommend light clothes, sandals, sun screen and sun glasses. 

  • PALO VERDE NATIONAL PARK

Palo Verde has more than 13.350 hectares of biodiversity including forest and wetlands. Our tour includes transportation by car and boat through Tempisque River, guide, drinks and lunch. Starts at 8 a.m. and it´s a full day tour, we recommend to wear comfortable shoes, bug repellent, sun screen, hat and sun glasses.  

  • BEACH DAY

Leaving after breakfast (8 a.m.), a vehicle with a guide will take you through the beaches of Potrero, Flamingo, Conchal, Brasilito and Tamarindo. Enjoy the sun and the sea, discovering particularities as Conchal, which is a beach made of tiny pieces of marine shells. We recommend to take with you swim suit, sun glasses, towels, bug repellent, sun tan lotion or sun screen.

Even we offer drinks all day, lunch is not included in the tour rate in order our clients complete their experience choosing one of the typical “sodas” (small informal restaurants) recommended in Brasilito.

  • WHITEWATER RAFTING  LEVEL III- IV

If you haven’t try this, don’t worry! Professional guides and first quality equipment will guaranty an amazing tour. Keep in mind sandals, swim suit, change of light clothes, sun screen, extra shoes, towels and bug repellent. 

This intense challenge requires moderated physical effort through a journey of around 20 kilometers down Corobicí River. Leaving the hotel at 7:30 a.m. and arriving by the end of the afternoon, transportation, guide, lunch and additional drinks are included.

  • TURTLES NESTING

More than a tour, this is an incredible educational experience recommended for all family.

Continuosly, Ostional Beach y Playa Grande are witnesses of the miracle of life with the Olive Ridgely Turtles and the Leather Back Turtles (Baulas) nesting. A certified local guide will take you through the natural process of such amazing creatures.

Starting hour depends on the nesting season, but generally we coordinate first with officials in every beach in order to know when and where we can offer the tour if the “arribadas” (groups of turtles) are big. The tour also finish when you and mother nature decide. It’s important to carry comfortable shoes (may get wet), short pants and bug repellent and camara (flash is not allowed). We include transportation, guide, National Park ticket fee and drinks.

  • RINCÓN DE LA VIEJA NATIONAL PARK

Would you like to spend a whole day doing all you want in a early XIX Century ranch with the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano right behind of you?

Some of the possibilities are horseback riding to the waterfalls, white water tubing class II-IV, climbing a rock canyon, rappelling, hanging bridges, Tarzan swing, hot springs, volcanic mud or trapiche tour (old way to process sugar cane).  

We recommend to head out at 8 a.m. and will be back around 6 p.m. remember to wear comfortable shoes, sun glasses, swim suit, light short pants (or long pants if you are thinking in horseback ride), towels and bug repellent. We offer transportation, guide, lunch and all the activities you wish to do throughout the day.

  • SANTA ROSA NATIONAL PARK

Combining the Country’s rich history and the internationally known natural wonders it adds some characteristics such as natural trails, beautiful beaches.  Santa Rosa protects the biggest arid rainforest in Central America and one of the most important historic places in Costa Rica. This is where very important battles took place about 150 years ago when invaders tried to disturb our freedom and way of life.

The park also preserves Nancite beach, well known for the arrival of Lora turtle and Naranjo beach, known worldwide for its ideal conditions to practice surfing. Santa Rosa is just about 90 minutes away from the hotel, so the time to head out and come back  its totally up to you however we recommend to head out early to enjoy all day. Bring along bathing suit, shorts, towels, sun block and bug repellent. With the transportation, the tour includes a guide, entrance ticket to the park and beverages, lunch is not included on the tour price so our guest could choose one of the typical “sodas” (small informal restaurants) on the way and have your experience completed.
